As Christians we have to be careful not to slip into speaking a sort of Christian code language. Sadly, this humorous video is not too far off in what it represents...
Wow, Amy and I both watched this and had different reactions. At first we discussed who this was poking fun at. If taken out of context perhaps this would be offensive to some Christians. However we certainly took it in stride and had a few hearty chuckles. I say "Amen" to poking fun and discouraging using such rich words in such common ways. How often is it the case that we sling around a few "Christianese" words to hide behind one thing or another. I remember something someone once said to me "narrowly defined words can be used for one of two things: helping to clarify, or helping to skew". This really hits home for "intellectual" Christians.
